Why connected play should preserve the tactile parts of game night instead of flattening them.

Modern campaigns are already hybrid. Character sheets, maps, notes, voice chat, and rules references often live on screens even when everyone is sitting around the same table.
That does not mean every physical action should become a tap. Rolling a favorite die is personal, visible, and communal. It is one of the few game mechanics that naturally creates a shared beat in the room.
Our long-term goal is to connect that physical action to useful digital records without requiring a special electronic die. If the table can understand an ordinary roll, a campaign can keep its tactile identity while gaining the convenience of history, export, and future integrations.
The important part is restraint. The connected layer should be optional, legible, and quiet enough to disappear when the story takes over.
